There has been an ever-increasing use of Filipino since the 1986 revolution. The 1987 amendment of the Constitution of the Philippines declared Filipino as the official language, which, properly speaking, is a slightly modified version of Tagalog (pronounced with the stress on the second syllable).
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a milestone document that proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being—regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
