Tomás Pedro Regalado y Valdez (born May 24, 1947) is a Cuban American politician and former broadcast journalist who served as the 42nd mayor of Miami, Florida, from 2009 to 2017. He is a member of the Republican Party, although as Miami mayor his office was nonpartisan.
He was elected mayor of Miami in 2009 on a platform of cutting taxes, improving municipal services, and reducing the size of government. During his tenure Regalado balanced the budget, attracted investment, and led the way toward economic recovery in the aftermath of the 2008 economic crisis.
