Strange Magic is a not an animated film for kids, more directed to teens and adults. This is an odd film, a mix of The Princes Bride meets Tim Burton's world and they sing Moulin Rouge style. Trivia. Strange Magic. The Fairy King is modeled after George Lucas. The sisters Marianne and Dawn were to have long brown hair, but to save on animation costs it was changed to Marianne having short hair and Dawn having blonde. The Bog King's design was based on a praying mantis and a cockroach.
