I´ve got this model in wood (thanks to Tim Price) and it´s the best Link type mpc I ever played.

I know Pharoah Sanders changes his mouthpiece set-up a lot and is generally a Selmer man even though has even used a Temby sax - but can anyone spot what he is playing in this photo? It is heavilly tarnished and engraved horn and the neck does not look like an original Selmer....

I am voice texting from the car, and I cannot look at the mouthpiece in the video, but I have probably traded 100 mouthpieces with Pharaoh over the years. He loves everything! He just loves the joy that each mouthpiece gives him for what it is.

Have a listen to Alice Coltrane's album "Ptah, the El Daoud" - Pharaoh Sanders and Joe Henderson both on tenor sax as well as alto flute (and Alice on keys and harp). "Blue Nile" is one of my absolute favorite tracks to play along to - basically seven minutes of floating modal E minor.

  8. Apr 13, 2020 · Finding Pharoah Sanders sheet music seems to be very tough, so, OK, I will make "I Want To Talk About You" by Pharoah my next learn by ear tune. But is he playing SOP or is this the Trane like tonal tenor that always makes me think he is playing sop? While we are at it, is there any sheetmusic out there on this (had to ask).

  10. Feb 3, 2003 · I have been at Robertoe's Woodwind store in NY back in 2007 and he claimed that Pharoah Sanders bought like 5 HR Vandoren V16's from him to try out. I am not sure if he actually liked/played them.It was first year to my memory the piece was introduced.
