In some ways Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is really about Tarantino wishing that blissful late 60s time continued, and all the stars and movies of that era kept being made. I get the feeling he doesn't much like the cinema of Scorsese, Coppola, Hopper, Friedkin and the rest of the New Hollywood crew.
Sep 4, 2021 · Charlie Manson was someone who represented the hippy movement with the sex, drugs, new age spiritualism and what not. They symbolically kill the last bit of innocence in Hollywood. Sure the final setpiece is very fun and cathartic, but the serene, melancholic final shot of the movie watching the real life victims go about their night made me feel like the ending was supposed to be a fourth-wall-breaking tragedy.
Sep 30, 2021 · Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) is such a chill, laid back movie. Movie fans who like to rewatch movies might have a few favorites or comfort movies they like to revisit often. For me OUATIH is one of those. This is coming from someone who came out underwhelmed the first time I saw it but since it released I may have watched it about 6 ...
For more information see /r/ModCoord. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Legit Terrible. I know I'll get knocked around with downvotes. Tarantino has a legion of thoughtless, knee-jerk fans (in addition to legitimate fans, and I've liked some of his movies a good deal). As I watched this, I struggled to formulate my thoughts.
