Kaohsiung American School (KAS) is a private, not-for-profit day school established in 1989 for the children of expatriate families in Kaohsiung. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and offers the IB’s MYP and DP programmes.

Since its founding in 1989 within the confines of a Kaohsiung hospital basement, KAS has grown to become a distinguished international school in the region, now proudly serving a thriving community of over 700 students.
16 nationalities represented. Over 75% of teachers have advanced degrees. 8:5 student to teacher ratio. Our highly qualified teachers draw on years of experience teaching in the U.S. and overseas to engage students in the rich and diverse learning that is at the core of the KAS experience.
