Jan 10, 2024 · As the only Canadian news outlet not owned by PostMedia people should definitely give CBC a break. BBC does way more than news as well, comedies, drama, sci-fi. They also use the BBC to help their universities and trade schools train people for the private film and television industry. Our only problems are a lack of vision and a lack of funding.
Aug 5, 2019 · - The links for the 24/7 news France 24 and main feed of ABC News Live appear to have become discontinued. Their new live feeds appear to be locked behind session tokens, which are not stable here. :-( However, I did locate an old list of France 24 feeds that do work and I have updated my master list with them.

As for TV news--I regularly tune into newsworld, ctv news channel, global, ctv and cbc. IMO, very rarely is there a different noticeable bias. All these networks have a similar bent. I love cbc radio. Both 1 and 2. But then living on the east coast--local radio leaves much to be desired. Love their music streams. I use them a lot.
Jul 9, 2018 · Posts: 36,625. CBC is all social justice all the time. CTV tends to be more balanced, and in the Maritimes, gives good regional coverage. Global has a minimal presence in the Maritimes (news program for the Maritimes is based out of Toronto), but I find the Global National News to be surprisingly good.

Dec 7, 2023 · I notice a lot of comments online hating on the CBC. A lot of comments call for the CBC to be defunded. I work for the CBC. I work on their language learning app, Mauril. My job is safe. My whole department is fine. I know we announced that we may have to lay some people off, but we have more revenue coming on the 19th of December.

For national news broadcasts: The National is on earlier than CTV National News, but I prefer the latter. Global National is on right after the supperhour news so it’s probably the most watched national news ...
May 8, 2021 · Reading the comments at CBC News website is equivalent to opening a sewer manhole and diving in headfirst. For an American, it's equivalent to reading NPR or PBS, getting to the comments section, and instead of open discourse or opinions with illuminating facts and/or different perspectives, being splattered with a bucket of rancid fish heads and some unidentifiable likely toxic slime.
Mar 1, 2011 · Another issue is that CBC is actively being datamined by an outside agency. Their moderation staff is a private agency that handles moderator duty for CTV and a bunch of other outlets. To me, this is a severe breach in privacy since CBC is giving away personal information that can be datamined and cross checked, to some invisible private company.
