Oct 17, 2008 · Upper air data combined with satellite sounding measurements are used in conjunction with surface weather reports to generate numerical weather forecasts. The aviation community is particularly interested in these forecasts for potential turbulence and icing conditions.
May 20, 2019 · The University of Wyoming maintains a server (<http://weather.uwyo.edu/upperair/sounding.html>) that provides an interface to query current and historical upper air soundings data. Tools are provided to query this service and retrieve the data.
