A timid bank clerk (Jim Carrey) wears a magical mask that transforms him into a wild and charming playboy. He falls in love with a nightclub singer (Cameron Diaz) and gets into trouble with a crime boss (Peter Greene).
Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) is a young shy man who works in a bank. One day, he discovers a mask by the sea, which (according to an archaeologist) pictures the Norse god of tricks and deception, Loki.
