Aug 15, 2024 · Did a test run. I can confirm that as of the timing of my post here it works to remove sent messages and pictures from BOTH the sender and receiver's accounts! I also checked from my messenger app on an android phone and a separate account on the Safari browser to confirm that messages were indeed removed for both parties.
