I will lay them out for you: Big companies like Sixt, Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, National. You pay a bit more and get a better chance of a high service level.
Just a quick positive anecdote: Rented a car from Vacanza rent a car in Chania, just for 2 days for a total of $137.82 usd (mid-May, 2023) for a Suzuki Celerio with manual transmission. Went to the office the night before and set up the terms and came back the next morning to sign the agreement, pay, and get the car.
Dec 2, 2022 · But I got 10 days for approx $20.00 a day for a Fiat 500 1.2L non-turbo manual. But had to Pre-pay an 11€ car wash fee or wash it myself before I returned it. I’ve used several agencies (Sicily by car, Avis, Sixt, Europcar & Budget), all over Italy and I’ve never had any issues or charges afterwards.
