2 inches = 320 dp. 2 inches = 360 pixels. Note that 2 inches is ALWAYS 320dp, independent of screen size. A dp is a physical distance of 1/160th of an inch. The dp to pixels formula is interesting: dp = 160*pixels/dpi. Is equivalent to: dp = pixels/(dpi/160) dpi/160 is an interesting factor.

Digital images are defined by pixel count and aspect ratio... inches don't really mean much except when you are using. a printing template or cropping.....then the dialog may show. 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc. but not in Paint. Aug 31, 2022 · There's, physically, no real way without knowing the DPI. Pixels are discrete, inches are not, if you're talking inches on your monitor, you need to know (at the very least) the resolution (and pixel aspect ratio) and the size of the visible monitor area in order to calculate your DPI.

If you want to save a figure of a specific size, then it is a different matter. Screen DPIs are not so important anymore (unless you ask for a figure that won't fit in the screen).
