The Oathbreaker Paladin. The Oathbreaker paladin "oath" is given on DMG 97: An Oathbreaker is a paladin who breaks his or her sacred oaths to pursue some dark ambition or serve an evil power. Whatever light burned in the paladin's heart been extinguished. Only darkness remains. A paladin must be evil and at least 3rd level to become an Oathbreaker.

Your 5e LE Paladin should work out famously -- or maybe, infamously! :-) Depending on how important Alignment is to you and your DM, the alignment may or may not figure significantly in the campaign. The character generation rules still call for the player to choose an alignment.

While comparable as a Sword-and-Shield Paladin, a DEX-based Paladin can not compete with a STR-based one as a "great-weapon fighter", due to the fact that no two-handed weapons have the finesse property.

Both of these spells can be used to turn into a creature that have access to resurrection abilities. True Polymorph can turn you into Ki-rin (from volo's guide to monsters) that has true resurrection as a spell.

Jun 5, 2020 · Your holy symbol is your spellcasting focus. In addition to being, you know, a symbol of your beliefs and tenets which define your character as a Paladin. The last subfeature of your Spellcasting feature reads: Spellcasting Focus. You can use a holy symbol (see chapter 5, "Equipment") as a spellcasting focus for your paladin spells.
