Parked in front of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, the new life-sized Gundam statue now towers over spectators at a staggering height of 19.7 metres.
Jan 30, 2015 · A robot standing in front of Diver City Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba is a real-size model of a robot weapon in the popular animation series, “Mobile Suit Gundam.” It was broadcast on TV here in Japan in 1979, and then was featured in many movies.
Odaiba is a the place that’s closest to my heart in Tokyo—at least as close a place a man-made island in the middle of Tokyo Bay could possibly claim. The area sometimes known as Teleport Town came to be during the bubble economy of the eighties, its land reclaimed from the water.
Mar 2, 2013 · Front of Gundam at dusk with lit up eyes. If you are a fan of Gundam, Mecha, or anime in general, than this is the place for you. It is, of course, a Gundam themed restaurant and here are many drinks and food at the cafe as well as may souvenirs.
Jun 26, 2013 · I have to say, the Gundam was indeed impressive and they do have a Gundam show (with the Gundam lightning up) that happens at different times of the day. I even bought a small little Gundam toy as a souvenir from my visit.
Jul 31, 2014 · The Gundam stands tall outside of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza - one of my favourite malls in Odaiba. Within the mall, there is also a Gundam cafe. The Rainbow Bridge carries three transportation lines, which are for rail, motor vehicles and pedestrians!
Nov 4, 2021 · Outside DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, you'll find a full-scale statue of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam from the series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. It was unveiled back in September of 2017, and replaced the previous RX-78-2 Gundam statue which was one of Odaiba's best-known attractions.
Nov 10, 2012 · Another well-known robot is the 18-meter Gundam statue built in front of the newly opened Diver City. The giant robot, or mecha, was constructed on a 1:1 scale with the original robots featured in the cult classic series called Gundam. Reaching Odaiba can be an adventure in itself!
