  3. Jun 11, 2024 · As for the Metro Bank credit card - it is a good choice for the 28 member countries within the SEPA zone. The problem for applicants is that (until today obviously) you have to attend a branch in person - and their network currently does not extend north of Bradford, none in Scotland or NI and only one place in Wales.

  6. Jan 18, 2012 · Metro Bank PLC is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, so as a depositor (cash ISA) you will be covered under the FSCS. Your deposits up to £85k in your sole name or £170K in a joint account with the Metro Bank are covered by the FSCS. From the small print at the bottom of their homepage:

He said the account allows only one beneficiary (which is fine by me) and that the beneficiary needs to be confirmed by phone (which they didn't inform me of before).

  8. Dec 7, 2023 · Despite being a modern bank with an app, Metro are very phone and branch centric. The robo-chat is worse than most other robo-chats (quite an achievement!) and just regurgitates stuff from the FAQ then refers you to the phone line or a branch. Unlike many other help chats, there is no way to escalate the chat to a human.

  10. Mar 4, 2011 · Yes and no. The benefits:the quick account opening;you can print off proof of address in the branch; you are issued with your card on the spot; if you recommend someone else to open an account, you both receive £20; the lack of overseas fees/decent exchange rate.
