Feb 7, 2015 · I used the table (values('x')) DUAL(DUMMY) to retrieve the result from a query that has a single column with an ANY result (in bold what writes the framework, in italic what I put as parameter): SELECT CASE WHEN 'X' = ANY (SELECT COLUMN FROM TABLE) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END RESULT FROM (VALUES('X')) DUAL(DUMMY). It works well in most SQL engines.

Dec 2, 2020 · Just looking to create a quick in-memory/temp table for testing out queries. I've seen this done before but I'm having trouble finding any examples from a web search or StackOverflow search.
What I would like to do is to add columns a through j as dummy variables such that column a would have a value 1 when the index == "a" and 0 otherwise. In the data.frame environment it would look something like:

Dec 6, 2018 · Our Numbers table is pretty big, nearly 80 million rows, so that is a factor. On my system the WHERE statement causes an index seek, while the TOP causes a scan. Because of the relative size of the result set versus the index size, the scan performs a lot better (percent wise, in actual time they bother perform fine).
Jul 12, 2019 · You can use a table value constructor to create a "dummy" table and use it in the WHERE clause the same way you would use any other table : select myTable.* from ( values ('A',15), ('B',16)) myTable([key],value) key must be quoted because it's a keyword.
