Jan 19, 2019 · The biggest difference I saw/felt was where the torque comes in between the 17 and 18’. It was noticable to me that the torque on the 1260 was about 750-1000 revs earlier than on the previous 1200 DVT. I had the 18’ for a couple of days and got to ride it on twisty roads against the previous year models.

Sep 9, 2013 · Same thing here with my '13 base model. 2300 miles, starter motor would spin but not engage the engine. Dealer replaced the spragg clutch and upon installation, the crankshaft sheared off. They rebuilt the bottom end with a new crank and everything it touched, but the process took 6 weeks. 2013 base model MTS 1200.

Apr 16, 2023 · Glad you got the clutch issue set. You mentioned having to take off the center stand to get the bash plate off. Next time you have the plate off, cut slots to the rear bolt holes that are blocked by the center stand. After that you just slide the bash plate into the rear bolts and tighten the lower front bolts.

I want to be able to perform diagnostics and maintenance tasks on my bike more efficiently. Could anyone suggest a reliable diagnostic tool or system that works well with my specific model?
Apr 19, 2017 · Rationally, financially, I probably should have gotten a new bike to replace my Monster at 175K. So I'd suggest looking for a lower mileage than that.
