BTW the effectiveness of the Surround modes such as 5.1 & Atmos can depend very much on placement of the Sound bar - specifically in relation to any reflective surfaces- for example if they are too far away the sounds may be difficult perceive as Surround.

Watching the last two Premier League games on the UHD channel I noticed there was no sound on the DD Plus setting and I had to switch to Dolby digital to get sound.
Dec 15, 2023 · I had this problem whenever I had sky q set to output sound in Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus, change settings to normal and it disappears but I want to use Dolby Digital audio. Found a sound setting on my Sony TV to 'Output only compressed Audio for multi channel content without change' Seems to be working for now..

Apr 22, 2023 · Action - sky audio visual setting changed to HDMI Dolby Digital and optical set to normal. Sky q HDMI lead removed from HDMI 1 from tv and also optical connection removed. Tv audio changed from pcm to audio 1 as audio device needs to decode sound. Left soundbar switched on and read on another site to disconnect HDMI arc lead on tv and reconnect.
