Since our foundation, the Assumptionists entered into the missionary and apostolic ministries of the Church engaging in community and parish life, pilgrimages, mass and social media, serving the poor, community building, ecumenism, interfaith dialogue and Eastern mission (Bulgaria).
The Assumptionists, formally known as the Congregation of the Augustinians of the Assumption ( Latin: Congregatio Augustinianorum ab Assumptione; abbreviated AA ), [1] is a worldwide congregation of Catholic priests and brothers. It is active in many countries.
Father Emmanuel d’Alzon (1810-1880) founded Augustinians of the Assumption (or Assumptionists) in 1850 and then in 1865 the Oblates of the Assumption. There are also the Little Sisters of the Assumption, the Orantes of the Assumption and the Religious of the Assumption, it forms the Assumption family.
