THE STORY OF THE PENNSYLVANIA LUMBER MUSEUM Our mission: The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum serves its diverse community by actively working to preserve and share the history of Pennsylvania’s forests, inspiring our audience to become better stewards of Pennsylvania’s forest resources and heritage.

  3. Jan 20, 2016 · The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum was first opened to the public in 1972, directly across the street from the now-abandoned ski resort at Denton Hill State Park, with the goal of educating the public on the history and legacy of lumbering in Pennsylvania.

  4. The Lumber Museum is located in north central Pennsylvania, on US Route 6 (between mile-markers 187 and 188), opposite the entrance for Denton Hill State Park and ski slope, midway between the communities of Galeton and Coudersport, Potter County.
