Now after using the admin login I was able to delete the existing DSL and Ethernet profiles and create a new IP based Ethernet profile and within seconds, my existing network is fully back online and at ~800 Mbps.
Thanks GlennW but luckily I fluked the login and password and am able to change the ZTE settings. I have connected the Orbi router internet port to the ZTE LAN1 port and created the bridge as per other forums, however, I still can't get the internet connection to work. Could you confirm if the settings below in the bridge I've created are correct.
The traffic will come from the internet and know it's destined to go back to 123.123.123.123. It hits the ZTE's WAN interface and then the ZTE knows that it has to get it back to 192.168.20.10. The ZTE has no interface configured for that host, it can't see that network so it doesn't know how to get the traffic back to the PC.
Make sure you back up the ZTE router and have ALL written down the Exetel login/VOIP details, before doing this: May be try installing the latest Exetel ZTE firmware then reboot the ZTE router, once rebooted give it a factory reset. Once the reset is complete type in ALL the login details including VOIP details.
I have to say the ZTE 268A modem has design issues. There are millions of ZTE H268A (and its variants) successfully deployed globally by some of the worlds largest Carriers/ISP's. There are many tens of thousands of happy Exetel customers using the ZTE H268A. wifi signal also isn't strong. Have you checked the Wi-Fi interference in your premises?
Are you aware of ZTE developing enhancements for the below items? 1. Allow the setup of 'Guest' wireless networks. 2. The ZXHN H1600 allows you to create multiple SSID networks. That said, it is disappointing that you cannot set individual DHCP pools for each of the SSIDs. Is ZTE planning to allow multiple DHCP pools for each SSID? 3.
I am trying to setup a new Superloop connection, using a ZTE H1600 supplied from Exetel, however, can't get it working. There is no editable options under internet when logging into the modem. And all setting look like they are still exetels settings, even after a factory reset.
Asked on SL chat for username/password for my ZTE H1600. I was told they were on the sticker on the back of the modem. Duly found and entered into the modem login page, however, the password was not valid. Rebooting, restarting did not solve my problem. Using WP, I found a password used for Exetel. Lo and behold, it worked.
I'm able to access the ZTE while bridged using my RouterStationPro and some iptable rules. Perhaps you could try this on the SSH terminal of your router? My home network is 192.168.10.x, WAN port is eth0. I set the IP of the ZTE to 192.168.9.254 before setting to bridged mode. ifconfig eth0 192.168.9.1 up
I accidentally messed up the DHCP IP reservation setting on the ZTE H1600 and it caused all the devices to not receive internet connection (connects, but can't get out). So I factory reset using the button on the modem, connect devices back up (double check their IP is correct, 192.168.20.XX) but my computer still says "Connected without Internet".
