Everything from the comic feels like a first draft compared to the show. Every character is better written and the show makes better use of every story element. The show is much better than the comics. A lot of the random anger just to make heroes look awful has been smoothened over.
Preacher and his Hellblazer run are some of my favorite comics of all time. I enjoy his historical war comics and his various Punisher runs (especially Max). Hitman and Demon are awesome. Some of his newer creator owned work like A Walk Through Hell I even found to be underrated and overlooked. But The Boys isn’t good.
If you just like the way the Garth Ennis writes stories, then it's worth buying. The Boys is the most Garth Ennis book that Garth Ennis has ever written. But if you're looking for a comic version of the show, I wouldn't recommend it. The book is way different from the show. 4.

In the comics The Boys greatest weapon isn't Compound V, is their slow and methodical detective work to blackmail the supes and collect evidence of their abuses. He goes at lenght with this in his "Barbary Coast storyline" (the one with the Payback flashback) where the character of Mallory basically serves as a voice of god for Ennis.

There was a series of about 20-25 comics that included this black haired femboy who kept stealing his sisters clothes, etc. i think I found them all (I can post the archive site, it has most/all his works from like, 2011 onwards) but since his site was removed I’m not sure if I have all of them. Jan 2, 2024 · In the comics Love Sausage isn't just a dick joke, he teams up with the boys while they're in Russia and helps them kill Stormfront. He also was a member of the USSR's version of the 7, the Glorious 5 Year Plan but doesn't like most other supes. Instead of the power they gave him in the show he just has super strength and heightened durability.
