Post Polterghast. Post Polter is where you have the best options for surviving the abyss. I'd recommend Gills Potions and Abyssal Diving Suit. The Strange Orb light pet can be very helpful for visibility. If you can get around and not be hit, Amidias' Blessing is an invaluable asset. More information.
To explore the Abyss, at least you have Post Skeleton Gear or you can beat the Giant Clam and get Amidas Blessings from Amidas so you don't run out of air. Don't get hit or else. Reply reply
