Donsol, officially the Municipality of Donsol, (Central Bikol: Banwaan kan Donsol; Tagalog: Bayan ng Donsol) is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Sorsogon, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 50,281 people.
Often touted as THE place in the Philippines to swim with whale sharks ethically, Donsol has seen an influx of travellers over recent years. From the months of November to May, Filipinos and foreigners alike flock to this site to get up close and personal to these gentle giants.

Until the "discovery" of whale sharks off the coast here in 1998, Donsol, about 28 miles (45km) southwest of Legazpi, was an obscure, sleepy fishing village in one of Sorsogon’s more remote areas. In 1998 a local diver shot a video of the whale sharks and a newspaper carried a story about Donsol’s gentle butanding.
