Like many musicians, John Mayer has many influences; he himself has stated that he draws inspiration from artists across all genres including Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Soul. He has also said that he draws musical inspiration from stand up comedians, but I’m not quite sure how that works.
