Nico Cristian Mirallegro (/ ˌ m ɪr ə ˈ l ɛ ɡ r oʊ / MIRR-ə-LEG-roh; born 26 January 1991) is an English actor. He is best known for his roles as Barry "Newt" Newton in the soap opera Hollyoaks (2007–2010), Finn Nelson in My Mad Fat Diary (2013–2015), Joe Middleton in The Village (2013), and Johnjo O'Shea in Common (2014).
He is BAFTA nominated for playing Joe Middleton in The Village and is known for his role as Finn in My Mad Fat Diary, Timothy Evans in Rillington Place, Jonjo in Common, Dodge in Spike Island and as John Bagguelly in Mike Leigh's Peterloo. Nico was selected in the 2012 Screen stars of tomorrow.
