Life with Derek is a Canadian television teen sitcom that aired on Family Channel (English) and VRAK.TV (French) in Canada and on Disney Channel in the United States. The series premiered on Family on September 18, 2005, and ran for four seasons, ending its run on March 25, 2009.

On gym activity sign up day, Derek (Michael Seater) makes sure Casey (Ashley Leggat) is late for school so all the popular options are booked up. Casey ends up in fencing, with Fergus (Patrick Garrow) as her instructor, and the insufferable flirt Truman (Joe Dinicol) as her partner.
Derek, who doesn't like sharing or losing, tells Casey how they get things in his house. After handing out marbles to represent the disputed areas in the house they start challenging one another for the other marbles.
