Jul 16, 2024 · Everything is Genshin now, like smash clones or mario kart clones. When one game revolutionates the landscape of the genre, everyone wants a slice of that cake. The most insane thing to me is that chinese and korean are revolutionazing the gacha landscape and the "traditional" japanese gacha model now feels so ancient and outdated.

Jul 30, 2024 · TOTK has my fav tools and mechanics to actually traverse and explore the open world. Elden Ring has the most enjoyable combat for an open world. RDR2 has the best atmosphere and is the most immersive to me. I'd say those three choices are the best open world games for different reasons. But overall I'd probably say RDR2 or TOTK.

Aug 3, 2024 · The new methods of traversal shake up the way you encounter the world enough to make everything feel different and it really speaks for how great this version of Hyrule is designed that the developers were able to put hundreds of new secrets into the known world without anything feeling tacked on or out of place.
Jul 30, 2024 · Which would be cool if the world were as busy as the Xenoblade areas they clearly (and for good reason!) emulate, but the world is more or less dead. Maybe it's all early game stuff, but it's minor things that kill me anticipation.
