Pressure on these areas, called trigger points, causes pain. Sometimes, the pain is felt in other parts of the body. This is called referred pain.
A Trigger Point (TrP) is a hyperirritable spot, a palpable nodule in the taut bands of the skeletal muscles' fascia.
