Oct 5, 2022 · This year’s theme of World Teachers Day is “The Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers,” while the theme of the National Teachers Month is “Gurong Pilipino: Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino (Filipino Teachers: Pride of the Filipino Nation).”
World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated since 1994. It is a day to celebrate how teachers are transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally.

World Teachers' Day is an international day held annually on 5 October to celebrate the work of teachers. Established in 1994, it commemorates the signing of recommendation by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Oct 5, 2021 · October 05, 2021 – With the theme, Gurong Filipino: Katuwang sa Hamon, Kasama sa Pagbangon, the Department of Education (DepEd) honored more than 900,000 Filipino educators and their contribution in learning continuity during the celebration of World and National Teachers’ Day on Tuesday.
This exhibition will showcase portraits and testimonials, recognizing their dedication, passion, and commitment to shaping the future. It will also highlight UNESCO's work on teachers. It will be on display outside UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, from late September to mid-October.
