Pursuant to the authority of the Department of Justice, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Department of Science and Technology under Republic Act No. 10175, otherwise known as the “Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012”, the following rules and regulations are hereby promulgated to implement the provisions of said Act:
Dec 5, 2021 · The legal framework of the Republic Act No. 10175 or “Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012” is in line with the Cybercrime Prevention Act of the Budapest Convention, which took effect in February 2014.
Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 created the Office of Cybercrime (OOC) within the DOJ and designated it as the Central Authority in all matters relating to international mutual assistance and extradition for cybercrime and cyber-related matters.

Feb 19, 2014 · Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, was signed into law by President Aquino on Sept. 12, 2012. Its original goal was to penalize acts like cybersex, child pornography, identity theft and unsolicited electronic communication in the country.
Republic Act 10175 – Cybercrime Prevention Act was signed into law last September 12, 2012. This law is already in effect as the Supreme Court uphold its constitutionality (February 18, 2014). Although some provisions were deemed as unconstitutional (struck down) particularly Sections 4(c)(3), 7, 12, and 19.
