Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill is a 182-metre (597 ft) volcanic peak and Tūpuna Maunga (ancestral mountain) in Auckland, New Zealand. It is an important place culturally and archeologically for both Māori and Pākehā. The suburb around the base of the hill is also called One Tree Hill.

One Tree Hill Domain, also called Maungakiekie, lies in the middle of the Tamaki isthmus and, excluding the mighty Rangitoto, is the largest intact crater in Auckland. Maungakiekie has a history of notable trees on its tihi (summit). One historic name for the tihi is Te Tōtara I Ahua after the sacred lone tōtara that grew there until it was felled by Pakeha vandals in 1852. The name One Tree Hill also stems from this lone tōtara tree.
As well as being one of the city’s largest volcanoes, Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill was one of the most extensively developed Māori pā (village settlements) in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, and today it is one of the largest pre-European archaeological sites in New Zealand.
Maungakiekie’s international profile was lifted after the Irish supergroup U2 wrote the song 'One Tree Hill'. When the band toured New Zealand in 1984, lead singer Bono visited the landmark and it left a vivid impression.
