Enneagram 9s are a body type. They are excellent mediators, non-judgmental and supportive. Type 9s are constantly trying to have control of their environments, and always want autonomy. Being a body type 9, they can also be ambivalent, stubborn and indecisive.
The most basic desire of the Enneagram Type 9 is to have internal peace. Nines strive to be in harmony with themselves and the world around them. Peacekeepers defend themselves by ignoring pain or numbing their internal conflicts through food, television, and other repetitive patterns.

Being part of the body/gut triad in the enneagram, the 9’s type structure is based around body boundaries and asserting one’s own existence, and the 9 boundary is fluid. Deep down, 9’s are stuck in the undifferentiated state of infant-hood, a time when there was no psychological boundary between self and other.
