Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spanish: [biˈtoɾja ɣasˈtejθ,-ɣasˈtejs]; Basque: [bitoɾja ɣas̺teis̻]; also historically spelled Vittoria in English) is the seat of government and the capital city of the Basque Country and of the province of Álava in northern Spain.
