Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.
Logging in and setting preferences were previously done separately on each wiki. Since May 2008 it has been possible to use the same username, password and email address across all Wikimedia wikis, without needing to register an account on each wiki.

Click on the Log in link at the top right of the page. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password.

Unified login or SUL (single user login) allows you to use a single global account to log into all Wikimedia Foundation projects, such as Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, and Commons. To rename your account, go to Special:GlobalRenameRequest and make a requst.
