Hargrave Military Academy (HMA) is a private, all-male, military boarding school located in the town of Chatham, Virginia. Hargrave is affiliated with the Baptist General Association of Virginia emphasizing Christian values that focuses on a college and military preparatory program.
Hargrave’s military program teaches boys how to follow first – important to effective leadership – and then helps them grow and develop as leaders in the cadet chain of command where they exercise real responsibility and authority in the day-to-day leadership of the corps of cadets.
Hargrave is a college preparatory school. As such, the academy seeks and encourages applicants whose goal is to pursue higher education, who perform successfully in an environment where high standards of conduct and character are expected, and who will abide by the academy’s Honor Code.
