Storyline. In the shores of Sulu lives the sea-faring tribe that is ruled by Datu Tanbuong. His granddaughter, Minda (Rosa del Rosario) is betrothed to be married to Danao (Fernando Poe), who is a handsome young pearl fisher who presents a handful of impressive pearls to the datu.
The film Zamboanga (1937) is a piece considered to be lost until its accidental rescue by film historian and archivist Nick Deocampo, later on screened in 2004, and is renowned as the oldest surviving film in the history of Philippine cinema.
