In April 1983, the Flood Forecasting and Warning System for Dam Operation (FFWSDO) project was conceived. The project was meant to prevent the occurrence of similar incident (i.e. Angat Dam) which result to the imprecedented flood heights that caused destruction and deaths downstream of the dam.
