The Camco Drum Company is a musical instrument brand currently owned by Japanese company Hoshino Gakki. Camco was originally a drum hardware manufacturing company which began producing drums after a hostile takeover of the George H. Way drum company in 1961.

Generally the division was fairly simple: DW took over the machines along with the characteristic hardware design (turret lugs in particular), while Tama acquired rights to the “Camco” name.

They even went so far as to utilize aircraft grade aluminum internal lug hardware so the lug screws would never rust in damp climates marring the interiors and each lug screw hole was threaded.
