SEVERINO MONTANO. 1915 to 12 December 1980. Severino Mantano was a playright with some 50 plays to his name and founder of the Arena Theater. He was awarded the title National Artist of the Philippines for theatre posthumously in 2001. Montano was a Dean of Instruction of the Philippine Normal College.
