Chris Foss at the 2014 edition of the Utopiales in Nantes. Christopher Frank Foss (born 1946) [1] is a British artist and science fiction illustrator. He is best known for his science fiction book covers and the black and white illustrations for the original editions of The Joy of Sex.
Chris first experimented with airbrushes in the early 60’s and has become one of the most widely recognised artists using this medium. He has created over a thousand book cover artworks for authors such as Isaac Asimov, E. E. Doc Smith, Arthur C. Clarke, A. E. Van Vogt and Philip K. Dick and many others.
