Ferenc Kósa (21 November 1937 – 12 December 2018) was a Hungarian film director and screenwriter. He directed thirteen films between 1961 and 1988. He won the award for Best Director at the 1967 Cannes Film Festival for the film Ten Thousand Days .

Though he had a long and prolific career in film and politics, he is perhaps best known for his film Ten Thousand Days (Tízezer nap), which chronicles the trials of a 1930’s Hungarian peasant family.
1956-ban érettségizett a nyíregyházi Széchenyi István Közgazdasági Technikumban. 1963-ban végzett a Színház- és Filmművészeti Főiskolán. 1963-tól a Magyar Filmgyártó Vállalat rendezője, majd az Objektív Stúdió egyik alapítója, 1988-tól 1992-ig Szabó Istvánnal együtt művészeti vezetője volt.
