Franco-Afghan writer/director Rahimi (10 books, 3 films) fled Kabul in 1984, settling in France. A cinema PhD, he published his debut novel "Terre et cendres" in 2000. He won the Goncourt Prize in 2008 for "Syngué Sabour, Pierre de patience."
