Anne of Cleves ( German: Anna von Kleve; 1515 – 16 July 1557) [2] was Queen of England from 6 January to 12 July 1540 as the fourth wife of Henry VIII. [2] Not much is known about Anne before 1527, when she became betrothed to Francis, Duke of Bar, son and heir of Antoine, Duke of Lorraine, although their marriage did not proceed.

Anne of Cleves, Queen, Consort of Henry VIII, King. The politically motivated fourth bride of Henry VIII, German princess Anne of Cleves (1515–1557) was one of Henry's few wives to survive him. Their marriage was marred by a lack of attraction on the part of both parties, and was annulled after several months.
