Assigning a numerical value – a probability – to the occurrence of rainfall event allows us to quantify the uncertainty. A probability forecast estimates the likelihood of occurrence of a specific event, which must be fully defined for the forecast to be verifiable.
Temperature. Based on the average of all weather stations in the Philippines, excluding Baguio, the mean annual temperature is 26.6o C. The coolest months fall in January with a mean temperature of 25.5oC while the warmest month occurs in May with a mean temperature of 28.3oC.
Meteorological observations and quality control procedures are done following the recommended best practices of the World Meteorological Organization. Quality controlled datasets are then archived at the Climatology and Agrometeorology Division of PAGASA.
