Summary: In the town of Widen, young boys begin to go missing. Everyone in town has dark secrets they are hiding. The lights flicker, dead birds fall from the sky and there is something unusual in the caves out in the forest. All the weird stuff going on is similar to events that took place back in 1986 and even before that in 1953 in Winden.

The Dark type was introduced in the second generation of Pokémon games as a measure to balance the types. In particular, its immunity to Psychic cut down that type's advantage by a long way. When paired with the Ghost type it was the only type combination to have no weaknesses before the Fairy type was introduced in Gen 6.
