In 1975, Einhorn graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University, having studied composition and electronic music with Jack Beeson, Vladimir Ussachevsky, and Mario Davidovsky. Einhorn has written chamber music, songs, ballets, and film and theatre scores.
In addition, Einhorn has produced over thirty classical albums for CBS Masterworks and others and has worked with Zubin Mehta, New York Philharmonic, Isaac Stern, Jean-Pierre Rampal, and many others.
