Pat Proft is an American comedy writer and actor. In 1972, Proft began working at The Comedy Store in Hollywood which led to work in television and film writing for the Smothers Brothers and Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker.

For as long as I can remember, I knew this man’s name to be in the beginning credits of so many of the movies I knew and loved, especially when I was “coming of age”, or of the “age when you’re always coming”.
