Fort Monmouth is a former installation of the Department of the Army in Monmouth County, New Jersey and the site of a major upcoming Netflix film production campus. [ 1 ][ 2 ] The site is surrounded by the communities of Eatontown, Tinton Falls and Oceanport, New Jersey, and is located about five miles (8.0 km) from the Atlantic Ocean.
Fort Monmouth’s history can be traced back to the establishment of the Signal Corps training facility in Little Silver in 1917. The installation gained permanent status in 1925, and was named Fort Monmouth in honor of the soldiers of the American Revolution who died in the battle of Monmouth Court House.
