From Monday, a thing landed on the monuments, making a crashing sound (1st picture) Tuesday, a strobe of light blinked abnormally between Washington and Jefferson's head then disappeared. Wednesday, a faint siren can be heard from the background but then suddenly went to silence.

Maybe RUSHMOREREVENGE was just one of those, with the only outside connection being the fact that the AFOA flew overhead. The 3 zones of Alcatraz, Rushmore, and Liberty Island did factor into the “divided states of America” situation, though, so maybe more will be revealed in this new season?
